BIO-Boost DIGI-SI AGRIFOOD Hackathon: Bioeconomy 3.0 - The challenge of digital innovations in the agrifood sector
Europe faces ongoing challenges such as climate change and global economic competitiveness, which require innovative approaches within a sustainable ecosystem. The bioeconomy, based on biological resources and technologies in various sectors, is a key solution in this context. With an annual turnover of 2.3 trillion euros and the support of 8.2% of the EU workforce, the bioeconomy is the foundation of European economic vitality.
Why is the event important?
- Transition to a bioeconomy: Transition to a bioeconomy brings significant benefits, but small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often face barriers due to limited resources and representation.
- The role of SMEs: The European Commission recognizes SMEs as the backbone of the European economy, as they play a key role in promoting growth, innovation and social integration.
- Food security: The food sector is at the heart of sustainable development, as it ensures food security and promotes a circular economy and efficient use of waste.
Event focus:
The event will be based on the development of project ideas for existing CBE JU and cascading tenders or the development of project ideas in stock through the creation of business models. Domestic and foreign experts from various fields will be available for you at the event.
Digital technologies in the bioeconomy:
Digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Robotics, High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cyber Security are key to the SME transition -'s in the bioeconomy, so we will introduce the latter into the ideas and concepts as well.
To prepare for the hackathon and present tenders and other challenges, we organize an online financial clinic for you, but this is not a condition for participation.
The workshop will take place on 23 May 2024 from 12:00 to 14:00
