2nd Day
Vilnius, Lithuania, witnessed a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies at the Agrifood Forum 2023, where @Project BIO-Boost partners played a pivotal role in steering discussions that redefine the landscape of agriculture.
Under the theme "Unlocking Industry 5.0 in Agrifood: The Cluster as Facilitators", our partners adeptly led an essential session, skilfully moderated by @Tautvydas Pipiras from @Lietuvos inovacijų centras / Lithuanian Innovation Centre. Additionally, our esteemed colleague @Daniel Copot from @ITC - Innovation Technology Cluster Murska Sobota contributed significantly as a panellist in the engaging session titled "AgriTech Nexus: Harnessing Technology for a Food-Secure Future", expertly moderated by @Kristina Sermuksnyte-Alesiuniene. Alongside Daniel, industry and academia experts @Vilma Atkočiūnienė PhD, @Egle Vaiciukynaite, @Gytis Junevičius, and @Gabriela Wurcel enriched the panel, highlighting the pressing need to empower small-scale farmers within the technological landscape for a more inclusive and resilient agrifood industry.
Recognizing the paramount importance of acknowledging farmers' voices, the discussions emphasized the necessity of understanding their perspectives and needs rather than advocating solely for change. The power of Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) services emerged as a crucial facilitator, providing a platform for direct engagement, collaborative solutions, and tailored support for farmers.
The Forum spotlighted critical food safety concerns in agriculture, emphasizing the integration of bioeconomy principles. Collaborative efforts among innovation agencies and clusters amplify this integration, aligning sustainable practices, cutting-edge technologies, and resilient supply chains to ensure the safety and quality of global food systems, transcending mere efficiency.
Commendations were extended to @AgriFood Lithuania for orchestrating this pivotal gathering, emphasizing the significance of collaborative innovation. This initiative harmonizes food safety imperatives with the sustainable principles of the bioeconomy, fostering safer, resilient, and innovative agricultural practices that shape the future of the industry.
